Obituary for William Louis (Bill) Elliott, Sr.

William Louis (Bill) Elliott, Sr.William was born in Richmond, Missouri, the youngest of five children to Earl and Eva Bell (Rogers) Elliott. William was the first in his family of coal miners to attend college, with the entire family working hard to support his education. He earned his Bachelor of Science from Missouri Valley College, a diploma from the Regional Center of Criminal Justice, a Master of Science in Secondary Education with an emphasis in Administration from Central Missouri State University, and an Education Specialist Degree fro the University of Missouri at Kansas City. Following an outstanding career at Paseo High School, where he taught math, science and coached football from 1967 to 1983, William actualized his goal of perusing a world class educational program and consistantly motivating, educating a significant number of students as Principal of Ruskin High School, Southwest High School, Westport High School Westport-Edison and Don Bosco Charter Schools. William, always civic minded, served as a reserve Kansas City, Missouri Police Officer from 1971 until retiring in 1986, while concurrently educating youth. William was a very active Prince Hall Free Mason, with over (40) forty years of dedicated service to the fraternity. He served in many capacities within the organization. He was a Past Master of John W. Carter Lodge in Richmond, Missouri, as well as a member of Kansas City Consistory #7 AASR, where he obtained his 32nd Degree. He was also a Prince Hall Shriner and is a Past Potentate of Allah Temple #6. Throughout his Masonic career, William held significant leadership roles including service as a RW Grand Trustee for the MWPHGL of MO and had a long tenure as Chairman. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping to initiate the Prince Hall Masons and Eastern Stars of Missouri HBCU Endowment program. He is proceeded in transition by his parents Earl and Eva (Rogers) Elliott, brothers Earl Elliott, Jr. and Roger Elliott, Sr.; sister Elizzbelle Elliott in infancy, wife Georgia Louise (Seay) Elliott and son William Louis Elliott, II. Celebrating his life are his daughter Laura (David) Rosola; son Joshua White; grandchildren Shante A. Elliott, William L. Elliott, III, Xavier A.E. (Sidney) Goudeau, Felix Elliott, Tilor Elliott, Taelor Elliott, Harper Jae White, Otto Dean White and Haven Raine White; sister Betty Smith; sisters-in-law Ewelleen Elliott, Fonda Elliott, Karen Harris, Mary Ann Davis; brothers -in-law George A. Seay andd Fred Harvey. He will be deeply missed by his cherished relatives and loving friends.
