Sylvester T. Brewster, SR.

Sylvester Thomas Brewster, passed on November 20, 2022, he was born on May 6, 1939 to John Henry and Gladys (Wynn) Brewster, both preceded him in death. He was the ninth of ten children, which preceded him in death. He attended Attucks Elementary and R.T. Coles. He retired as a truck driver for All Packaging. He met and married Jessie Mae Herron in 1956. He was baptized as one of Jehovah*s Witnesses in 1974, and enjoyed the privilege of serving as a ministerial servant, elder and regular pioneer. He served Jehovah faithfully for 48 years. Sylvester was an outgoing and happy person. He was a loving and inspiring father and husband, a caring and generous provider for his family. He would do almost anything with his children, bowling, boxing, dancing, skating, and swimming. He was a great teacher of life skills. Sylvester always had a side hustle, he kept a truck, he always said, * A car was a bill, but a truck would pay the bills.* We never knew what he meant until we got older. He was a good listener, and he would never lead you wrong. If you didn*t want to hear the truth about a matter, then you didn*t ask him, he always gave it to you straight. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 66 years, Jessie Mae; one brother; Cornell Brewster, five sons; Sylvester James(Diane), Robert Lee(Dyan), Jesse Eugene Wesley, Daryle(Danita), Gerald Brewster. One daughter Shelly Brown(Tyrone). Five grandson; Gary Starr Brewster(Tennille), Sylvester James Jr(Angel), Robert Lee Jr(Kelle), Richard Lee, Gerald Lee(Ciera) Brewster. Seven granddaughters; Kenisha Hawkins, Teresa Hawkins, LaShaunda Rowe(Gary), Trinicka Harden(Ryan), Andrea Porter, CoRae Smith, Maraieh Sowell. And a host of nieces, nephews, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
