Obituary for Sir Patrick E. Castleberry
Sir Patrick E. Castleberry
Born: June 27th, 1975 Departed: May 13, 2025
Sir Patrick Earl Castleberry was born on June 27, 1975, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Patrick E. and Ozetta (Jones) Castleberry. He was raised in a close-knit family and community, attending Quindaro Elementary, Northwest Middle School, and F. L. Schlagle High School.
A lifelong member of St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Sir Patrick was nurtured spiritually under the leadership of Pastor Leroy Holmes and Pastor C. L. Cobbins. From a young age, he was actively involved in the church’s youth department, serving on the usher board and singing joyfully in the youth choir. Sir Patrick had a deep love for his hometown and was a devoted Kansas City Chiefs fan. He especially enjoyed gathering with friends and family to cheer on his team. Generous to a fault, Sir Patrick was known for his big heart. Professionally, Sir Patrick served as a dedicated custodian for the Kansas City Kansas Public School District 500 for over a decade. In 2013, he decided to pursue a passion for cooking and enrolled at L’Ecole Culinaire Institute at the Country Club Plaza. Following his training, he brought his culinary talents to several beloved local establishments. Sir Patrick was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ellis and Ernestine Castleberry; his maternal grandparents, Lavell and Leola Jones; his father, Patrick E. Castleberry; his brother, Phillip D. Castleberry; and his cousins—who were more like brothers—Derrick “Debo” Wright and Michael “Mike” Castleberry. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Ozetta Castleberry; his siblings, Risha M. Jones, Christopher E. Castleberry, and Nikki L. Castleberry, all of Kansas City; as well as a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Sir Patrick will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, generous spirit, and infectious love for life. He was a true blessing to all who knew him.
