Obituary for Sharon Dixon-Luckett

Ms. Sharon Denise Dixon was born April 4, 1960 to Eva Jean Dixon. She attended Henry C. Kumpf Elementary School and Manual High School. She was a graduate of Paseo High School, class of 1948. She was employed by the City of Kansas City, Missouri for over 20 years. From there she advanced into nursing. She became a CNA and CMT. She was employed at several nursing home facilities in Raytown and Liberty, MO. Sharon was known to “work” a job. Sharon prided herself on caring for and working with the elderly during her final years of employment. She finished her employment career at the Ashton Care Center in Liberty, MO. Sharon was an avid prayer. She frequently phoned family and friends saying, “Let’s pray”. And pray she did, no matter what the time. Although she was a work-acholic, working multiple jobs at the same time, she traveled frequently to visit family and friends, within and across state lines. She reached out to all of her family equally. She was determined to know all of her close and distant relatives. Her deep love was family. Sharon had one child, her son, Augustine Nnamdi Igwebu, Jr. whom she cherished and adored. She had four granddaughters that she loved traveling with, connecting them to new family members as she reached out across state lines. She had annual outing with her granddaughters that brought her much joy. Sharon battled with cancer for 4 years. She was a fighter in every sense of the word. She leaves to cherish her memory, her son, Augustine Nnamdi Igwebu Jr. and his wife Tekiesha; 4 granddaughters, Alysia Igwebu, Nayoni Igwebu, Brooklyn Igwebu, and Eva Igwebu; 5 siblings, Rose Johnson, Michael Shelton(Tammie), Shelly Ibok(George-deceased), Miles Shelton(Schelly), Michelle Johnson; Special friend, Herman Turner; One aunt, Rosemary Overall ; One uncle, Artee Ervin, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in transition by her mother, Eva Jean Shelton and brother, Curtis Carl Dixon.
