Obituary for Sharon Bradford

Sharon Lee Owens Bradford, was born March 10, 1951, in Mexico, Missouri. Her parents Reverend James L. Owens, Sr. and Helen Virginia Vance-Owens. Brothers Dr. James Owens, Jr(EDU), Reverend Virgil S. Owens, Sr. and sister Sylvia Owens-Duschen preceded her in deh. Sharon tended Garrison Elementary and Yeager Elementary Schools, East High School and ler tended Penn Valley Community College,where she completed the LPN degree. She was employed for over thirty-seven years the Kansas City Area Transit Authority in several administrive positions, including serving as a steward for the Amalgamed Transit Union. Sharon worked diligently to represent and protect the rights of her fellow union members, participing in labor contract negotiions and employee grievance action. She gave her life to Christ an early age and was very dediced to her church family Ward Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church. She served in various capacities in her church to include the being a Past President of the Lay Organizion, Hospitality Committee, Living Well Ministry Coordinor, Choir Member, Secretary for the Choir, Woman’s Missionary Society, Church Finance Committee, Steward Board, User Board, Kitchen Committee Staff Member and Sunday School Teacher. Her kindness, considerion and cheerful spirit will be missed by all. Sharon leaves to cherish with loving memories her son Darrell L. Bradford; grandson Dertez R. Bradford; two sisters Deborah J. Owens and Linda C. Owens; neices Rosalind Owens and Emily Duschen; nephews James R. Owens, Virgil S. Owens, Jr. and Michael Duschen; brother In Law Scott Duschen; gre nephew Alexander Duschen. She leaves a host of cousins, many relives, friends and of course her Ward Chapel Familyand the entire Bradford Family. Sharon, truly lived by Jesus’ admonition to “Let Your Light Shine before men, so th they may see your good works and glorify our Fher, which is in heaven.
