Obituary for Rudolph Brown, Sr.

Rudolph J. Brown was born to Johnnie and Berice (Block) Brown on Sept 5, 1938. Rudolph is preceded in deh by his wife Freddie Deloris Brown, his parents Johnnie and Berice Brown, One daughter Shelby Holmes, one gre grandson Clifton Rashaun Love Jr. 2 brothers, Leo Brown, Augustus Brown, 5 sisters: Htie L. Anthony, Lucille M. Haskin, Johnnie Mae Brown, Verena Trammel, and Rosetta Maple. He was united in mrimony to Freddie Deloris Washington on Dec. 31, 1960, they were blessed to spend (48) years togher. To this union 3 children were born, Shelby Holmes, Rudolph Brown Jr, and Tammy Barnes. Rudy had a passion for playing Dominoes. He earned the name *The Domino Kid* everywhere he went. Between 1954 * 1956 Rudy traveled back and fourth to Kansas City to work in the summer for the KC Fire Dept. Part time. Brown gradued in 1957 from Hooks Colored High School. He went on to tend Prairieview A and M College in 1958, he came home one day and asked his fher Johnnie Brown to help him purchase a car to get back and fourth to college, of course he said no, so Rudy traveled to KC to live with his Sister Rosetta and Brother in law John L. Maple. There he obtained a job the United Stes Postal Service. Where he dediced over 22 years, and yes of course after working and saving enough money Brown was able to purchase his first vehicle which was a 1956 Ford Convertible. Rudy Career began to take off so he made Kansas City his home. A few year prior to retiring from the United Stes Postal Service he obtained his Real Este Broker and Appraiser License. He began a career with Dobi-Ty Realtor Co. for over 30 Years. He became an entrepreneur, a black owned businessman, founder of Brown and Son Real Este CO., for over 20 years. Brown was also a Treasurer for the Nional Real Este Appraisor Assoc. he was also a tax preparer throughout out the Metropolitan area. He also traveled every tax season to his home town Hooks, TX, and prepared all the elders, family and friend taxes as well. Rudolph was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church since the 70*s under the leadership of the le Rev. Willie MaGee, Rudy remained a faithful and dediced member under his current Pastor Kevin Smith, he served until passing. Brown was a hard worker in the church, he served as a finance advisor, on the board of trustees, and also a member of the male choir. His health rapidly started failing in Aug. of 2017. Rudolph J. Brown Sr. received his wings early Monday, Aug 27, 2018 10:35 a.m. Westridge Rehab. & Health Care Center. He leaves to cherish his memory one son Rudolph Brown Jr., one daughter Tammy Barnes(Anthony, Sr.) of Raytown, MO. One Brother Clyde Brown of Aurora, CO, sister Verma Clyde Ferguson of Flint, MI., 2 sister in laws Joyce Brown of Hooks, TX, and Airie Dee Williams of Alabama. 10 grandchildren, Shakita Washington (Christopher) of KCMO. Octava Dawkins, Little Rock, AR, Victoria Dawkins, KCMO. Christopher Hussey of CA, Ashley Brown of lanta, GA. Jeremy Brown(Tanya) KCMO. Anthony Brown Jr. Lee Summit, MO., Shayla Holmes, KCMO, AntwoineBarnes, Raytown, MO, and Carly Holmes of KCMO. 4 gre grand children Jett, and Jackson Washington, Braxton and Bradley Brown., a host of nieces, gre nieces, nephews, gre nephews, family and friends.
