Ricanna Delores Jefferson (Cherry)

Ricanna Delores Jefferson (Cherry) 66 died Peacefully in presence of her loving niece Research Hospital on June 13, 2017 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in deh by: her parents daughter Rina Jefferson, sisters Beverly Burnett (James), Dushon Nicholes (Cherry) and Denise Cherry. Ricanna was born November 3, 1950 in Kansas City, Kansas to Annie (Merideth) and Richard Cherry. She is the third oldest of the 7 children in the family of Richard and Martha Cherry. She gradued for Southeast High School in 1968. She married Freemon Jefferson in 1972. She continued to live and work in the local Kansas City area. She began working for the Kansas Police Department in 1974, retiring as an Emergency Service Operor after 20 years of service. Ricanna, affectionely was call ‘Rickie’, she had a big heart for her family and grely enjoyed time she could spend with them. She loved shopping…and more shopping. and willing and giving to others, delighted her. Ricanna was also talented crocheting and knitting often making items for family and friends. She had a healthy interest in historical events, especially royal events. she alos had a love for reading and made for interesting conversions with Rickie. Ricanna is survived by : her children Paxton Jefferson of Los Angeles, CA, Stetton Jefferson (Rasheda) of Kansas City, MO, Pricia Hamilton (Robert) of Grand Prairie, TX; sister Bonnie Hawkins (Fred) of Lansing, MI; brothers Alvin James (Peggy) and Oliver James; and niece Le’Trese Burnett , all of Kansas City, MO; along with 18 grandchildren, 13 gre- grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
