Obituary for Rev. Richard Eugene White (Dickey Boy)

Rev. Richard Eugene White (Dickey Boy), 89 passed away peacefully on July 2, 2017 was born May 6, 1928 in Kansas City, MO. He was a big boy born to Herman White and Adeline Williams. Raised by Daddy Manuel Tucker, who taught him to be a man and to work hard and respect everybody. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ an early age. Dickey tended tucks Elementary School and tended R.T. Cole High School. He gradued and received his certifice of completion from Victorious Life Bible Institute’s Ministerial Preparion Course June 2010. Richard married Delores Lewis in 1949, and to this union a daughter Alline Estelle White was born in 1951. A proud Korean War Veteran, drafted by the Army in 1950, fighting in the Korean War, with honorable discharge in 1952. Richard retired as the Area Superintendent of the Kansas City Wer Department after 38 years of service. He was a Free Mason and past Master and lifetime member of the Amos Johnson Lodge #148. He was also a member of Ivanhoe Neighborhood Associion, Kansas City Community Gardens, and volunteered in a variety of community-based programs. Richard was also Pastor of Greer Light Baptist Church. Richard was preceded in deh by his wife Florence, parents, a daughter, 3 brothers, and 2 sisters. He is survived by: 4 siblings: Willa Bryant and husband Bobby, Gertrude Huffman, William Tucker and wife P, and P Rodgers; four children: Alline White, Carla Canady and husband Leroy, Keith Rankins, and Shaval Young; 11 Grandchildren: Bryan Sr. and wife Debra, Marlon Sr.,Laquanda Thomas-Te, Mikell and husband Anthony, Simone, Ebony, Shonda, Marquita, Jasmine, Kaygen, Keshia, and KeAnthony; 18 gre grandchildren, 6 gre-gre grandchildren, and a host of other nieces, nephews, and friends.
