Octavia Smith

Octavia Jaunita Smith was the third child born to the union of Joe and LuAnna Smith, both of whom preceded her in deh. Also preceding her in deh, her brother Michael Smith, Sr, grandson Ryan Henderson, Jr., and gre grandsdaughter, Machole Stewart. Juanita (affectionley called Nuda) grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and tended Douglas Elemtary. Northeast Jr. High School, and Summer High School, graduing in 1962. She also gradued from Sumner’s Cosmetology School in 1963. She worked as a beautician for many years until finding her niche in the clerical field, eventually as a word Processing Specialist for IMC/Arthur J. Gallagher Insurance Company where she worked for 15 years until she had to retire early due to debiliting arthritis. She leaves to mourn her passing, her darling and devoted daughters Vonda Wilson (Ervis), Nichelle Smith- Jobe (Lamin), Krystal DePriest (Bryan), Anissa Hayes (Damian), brother Joseph Lee Smith (Rhonda), nieces Vicki and Denise Smith; nephews Michael, Leonard, David and Jesse Smith; grandchildren Marquisha Kelley, Gregory Jackson, Keione Owens, Zachary Heaven, Michael, MArc, and Martika Stewart, Deione Carter, Devanne and Brandon Henderson, Taylor Robinson; gre-grandchildren Marquan and Marquis Kelley; Unasia Stewart, Uonel Simpson, Chris Hicks, Octavia Stewart, Im’unique Stewart, Marzay Stewart, Angelika Johnson, Carlton Johnson, Jr., Mekhi Blunt, best friends Orissa Kelley-Wgan, Constance McAnderson and Deborah Peterson; her aunt Irene White, as well as a host of devoted relives and friends.
