Obituary for Norman Sawyer, Sr.

Norman Sawyer, Sr. 63 passed away on April 12, 2017 was born June 23, 1953 to the union of Ernest and Mary Sawyer in Kansas City, Missouri. Both parents and his son Shamon proceed him in transition. He tended public school in Kansas City Missouri, tending Westport High School and graduing from West High School. Norman went on to tend Langston University in Oklahoma, where he played collegie football and was known for his ability to sack quarterbacks, during his time in college he met many life long friends. Upon returning home from school, Norman enlisted in the military and after basic training was transferred to Fort Leonard Wood as a member of the Nional Guard for his advance training obtaining the rank of Staff Sargent. In the early eighties He met the love of his life the former Tonja Robinson. They married and to th union three children were born, in 1991 Tonja went home to be with our Lord and left Norman with the task of raising their three sons. In 1992 Norman, along with his three sons, joined together with Zsa Zsa Addison and her three children and the black “Brady Bunch” was formed. Together they raised six children and remained together until his passing.. Norman loved his family more than anything. He always provided nothing but the best for his children. He did all he could for his brothers and sisters and encouraged them in every way he could. After working for General Motors and Ford Motor Companies, he decided to become an entrepreneur. He started Sawyer Auto Sales, where he sold automobiles for many years, as well as other business intrest around the city. During this time he also ventured into real este and purchased many houses in hope th his family would live in these dwellings. Norman never met a stranger, wherever he went he made friends. With the of his son Shamon in 2015 he was happy to receive his last grandson Shamon, Jr, he loved to travel and fish. He was known throughout the city as “Big Norm”, unless you knew him as a child when they called him “Poopie”. He leaves to cherish his memory ZsaZsa Addison of the home; sons Norman Sawyer, Jr. and Diamond Sawyer, blended children Dazsa Carter, David Addison and Ramon Addison; brothers Ernest Sawyer, Hugh Sawyer, Michael Sawyer(Pricia) and Royce Sawyer; sisters Rose Lee and Bonnie Davis; brothers in law Michael Robinson(Angie), Mark Robinson(Felicia); sisters in law Karen Robinson, Sheron Perez and Rhonda Robinson; eleven grandchildren, a host of nephews, neices, cousins, relives and many friends.
