Nancy Yvonne Garrett

Nancy Yvonne Garrett, born to Ethel O. Smith and William W. Smith Sr. on August 4, 1939 in Kansas City, Missouri. Nancy is the eldest of 8 children born to the union. She was educated in the Kansas City, MO school district. Nancy married James Garrett Jr. on October 12, 1972. Nancy had 3 children Sonya, Yvonne and Tyrone. James also having 3 sons Sanford, Marcus and James. In 1974 they welcomed a daughter Rachel adding to their union. Nancy joined Eighth Street Baptist Church soon after marrying James. Nancy worked for several businesses in the Missouri area until she became became a stay at home mother and housewife. Nancy is preceded in death by both parents, son Tyrone Morris, brothers Kenneth Smith, Clifford Smith, DeWayne Smith, and Reginald Smith. Nancy is survived by daughters Sonya Smith Lenexa, Kansas, Yvonne Morris and Rachel (LaDon) Henderson Kansas City, Kansas. Sons Sanford (Dana) Garrett Kansas City, Kansas, Marcus (Beverly) Garrett Shreveport, Louisiana and James (Gloristine) Garrett Kansas City, Kansas. Sister Ann Smith K.C.K and brothers William W. Smith Jr. and Glenn A. ( Pamela) Smith, Kansas City, MO and brother-in-law Damon Lewis. 17 Grandchildren, 43 Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephew and Friends.
