Ms. Linda Holman

Linda was the second twin born on September 14, 1961, to the union of Luther and Octavia Holman in Centreville, Illinois. She confessed her hope in Christ an early age Fl Creek Missionary Baptist Church in East Carondelet, Illinois under the leadership of the le Reverend McKinley Logan. The family moved to Kansas City, Missouri January 1974. They joined Paradise Missionary Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri October 1974 under the leadership of the le Reverend James Glasgow. Linda was very active in church, singing in the Angel Choir, the Inspirional Choir, and served on the Junior Usher Board. In October 2012, Linda joined Macedonia Baptist Church, Kansas City, Missouri under the leadership of John L. Brooks, M. DIV. She was an active and fun member of the 55+ MOSIAC Ministry (Motiving Our Senior Adults In Christ), tending Sunday School and Worship Service regularly. Linda was full of life, cheerful, happy, and always smiling. She loved entertaining, writing plays, and skits. It didn’t mter if it was a birthday party, retirement party, family ghering, or funeral; Linda came up with the skit. Her skits were always entertaining, and she would have everyone laughing. Linda was a joy when entertaining because you never knew wh she was going to do. Even church functions, Linda would have granddaughter Faith and the other children church with her, spreading joy and laughter into their lives. Linda always put others before herself. She was a special kind of QUEEN. She ran sun-up to sunset, making sure everyone was good, especially family. She loved all her nieces and nephew like they were her own. Linda had two precious jewels in her life. The first was her beautiful daughter, Naoyanna. Anything Naoyanna wanted, Linda purchased it. Her granddaughter, Faith, was her second precious jewel. She would go above and beyond for her grandbaby. You couldn’t tell Linda nothing about Faith. She was very active with her, coached her t-ball team, took her to her dance practice, even got voted best dance grandma of the year Dance Revolution. She was known for bringing the snacks. She treed all the kids like they were her grandbabies. Then gymnastic came along. She started a whole OTHER family with the gymnastic team, Fire & Ice. Linda will truly be missed by all of Faith dance team and gymnastic team members. Linda tended East Carondelet Elementary School in East Carondelet, Illinois; Kherine B. Richardson Elementary in Kansas City, Missouri; Central Middle School, and Central High School both in Kansas City, Missouri. Linda was a Licensed Cosmetologist for the Ste of Missouri and tended Penn Valley Community College studying Da Processing. Linda worked for IRS for four years. She began her career the United Stes Postal Service in November of 1987 until her deh. Linda was well known the Post Office for her long hours. Linda was the ONLY employee allowed to take power naps work. She was known, to get her pillow and blanket and take a power nap. They knew when she got up, she would put out the amount of work of three or four workers. Linda was also known to speak her mind, and to “tell it like it is”. It included, other employees, supervisors, MDO’s, it didn’t mter. They did not mess with her much. She knew her rights, and she knew the union rules. Linda was preceded in deh by her parents, Luther Sr., and Octavia Strauther-Holman; parental grandparents, Jasper and Mary Hoskins-Holman; mernal grandparents, James Strauther and Ophelia Hill-Bell; brothers, Luther Holman Jr, Jasper Holman, and Darrell Holman; Sisters, Tarie L. and Dinah Holman; nephews, Aaron Strauther and Craig Richardson. Linda leaves to cherish her memory: her two precious jewels, her loving daughter, Naoyanna Andrews and the pride and joy of her life, her only granddaughter, Faith Byers; (three brothers) Aaron Strauther, Seaside CA, James (Lorraine) Strauther, Madison, IL, and Jimmy Holman Sr, Raytown, MO; (Ten sisters), Mamie Bauldin, Niles, MI, Mary Richardson, KCMO, Maxine Buckley, East Carondelet, IL, Ophelia Holman, Lees Summit, MO, Carrie Wynn, KCMO, Darlene Holman, KCMO, Lorrie Holman, Blue Springs, MO, Brenda (her twin) Holman, KCMO, Melody Holman, Grain Valley, MO, and Augusta (George) Stallworth; her best friend, Debra Woods and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, her Macedonia Church Family, and longtime friends and acquaintances.
