Obituary for Ms. LaVerne Boudreaux

July 3rd, 1955, in Kansas City, Missouri, Laverne Boudreaux graced us with her fiery presence for over six decades, finally transitioning to her next assignment in the early hours of March 22, 2022. Born to Louella Perry, she grew up as the younger sister of John and Alfred Brown. She met her husband Mevran Jules Boudreaux and they fell in love and married in 1973. From this union she mothered three children; Mevran Jules II, Kolet, and Dalisa Boudreaux. She tended Lincoln High School and community college where she pursued a degree in nursing. Just shy of her associes, she ler returned to finish school and got her certificion in Christian studies. She instilled the power of prayer and faith in God. She joked about her faith by saying th she was “the prayer warrior with the ashiest knees around”. Her highest request was th we would all have a personal relionship with the Creor, walk in love, and remember “Ohana; We are One”. She was the first black female painter to be employed by any municipality in Kansas City, Missouri. She was also an ordained minister Community Fellowship. She is a published author, a self-proclaimed floral artist, a director of plays for Kolet and Dalisa, and a seamstress will (the whole family has blankets to prove it). Laverne touched the lives of many, stood in the gap for children th needed extra parenting, provided shelter for the homeless, checked on those infirmed and imprisoned. She made meals for the hungry and gave all th was in her to help those in need. May the Lord receive her into His loving arms with one clear message: Well done, thy good and faithful servant. May she continue to wch over us all and cheer us on.
