Obituary for Ms. Jewel Marie Haynes

Jewel Marie Haynes, affectionely know as *Aunt Sister*, was born May 25, 1938 to the le homer and SueLue Baker in Nettleton, Mississippi. She was the eighth of ten children. She received her formal educion in Mississippi, where she excelled in all her studies and academic accomplishments. Jewel, was a member of Park Avenue Church for over forty years. Her love for the LORD was exemplified by her willingness to serve his glory. Jewel served in many roles, most notably as a members of the Hospitality Committee, the Usher Board as well as the Junior Usher Board. While she served on the Adult Usher Board her duties varied to include Vice President, Secretary, Historian and other duties she was assigned. While her tenure with the Junior Usher Board, she was one of two counselors. Jewel our *Aunt Sister*, as she was affectionely known, by the many nieces and nephews was dearly loved and was more than an aunt to all of them. She fulfilled many roles in the family and became a surroge mother and grandmother to the children of her deceased sisters. *Aunt Sister*, was the perfect hostess and enjoyed the company of her family, neighbors and friends most especially during the holiday seasons. She loved to prepare large meals and welcomed all. *Aunt Sister*, freely expressed her love for her family and was a generous gift giver. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, reading and traveling and entertaining, and was also famously known for her signure red lipstick and nail polish. Jewel, retired form Ross Miller Franchise Incorpored. She was the office manager and chief bookkeeper for over thirty years. She was the proud mother to her only child Gloria Baker known as *Penny* to family and friends. Together they had a bond of many priceless and memorable years together. Their love for one another was exemplified by the home they shared and all of the time they spent together. She will be missed and never forgotten by all who knew her, especially *Penny*, Eudell, Bridgette, Little Derrick, Stella, Pastor George Ervin Sr. and family, her long and dearest friend Gladys Reed and her god-daughter Dr. Lrice Moore of Mulberry, Florida. Jewel, leaves her daughter Gloria Baker of the home; only remaining sister Mrs. Flora White of Lambert, MS; her brother Bobby Baker of Amory, MS; together with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family and friends.
