Obituary for Mrytle Johnson Choe

Mrytle Johnson Choe, born May 2, 1932 3:00 PM – Transitioned from this life on: January 9, 2022 1:40 PM the age of 89. She was born in Plummerville Arkansas; gradued from Conway County Training School in Menifee Arkansas the Class of 1950.The family migred from Arkansas to Kansas City Kansas in 1951. She met and married John H. Choe, Sr. on the 27th of June, 1959 and they moved to Kansas City Missouri where she resided until her demise. Myrtle accepted the Lord an early age tending Mount Hebrew CME Church of Springfield Arkansas, St. Peter CME of Kansas City, Kansas where she served on the usher board, and she made her home St. James United Methodist Church where she sang in the Adult Contemporary Choir, and served on the financial committee. She was a Federal employee working Remington Arms/ Lake City Army Ammunitions/Olin where she held the positions of Tester, and Inspector and rose to the ranks of Supervisor (Retired). Kroger Store – Checker / Office Clerk Union Member: United Food and Commercial Workers Union, Retail Store Employees Union Local 782, RCIA, A.F.L.-C.I.O. Her hobbies were Fishing, Gardening, Music, Crafting, Cooking. She was an avid sports fan she followed the likes of Chiefs, Royals, Golf, and Basketball. Our mother was best known for her quite demeanor, elegant style and how she loved her family and children. Proceeding her in deh: Parents: Henry Johnson Sr. and Lena Sanders Johnson Husband: John H. Choe, Sr. Siblings: Charles O. Johnson, David Johnson, Hazel Johnson – Swift, Sydney V. Johnson, Henry Johnson, Jr., Preston L. Johnson, Marquette Johnson, Velma L. Johnson – Smiley, Grandson: Oshun Jamal Garner Left to cherish her memory – Children: Rita D. Garner, Toni A. Choe,(Roscoe McKinney), and John H. Choe, Jr. all of Kansas City, MO. Grandchild: Osun F. Shekhem, Gre grandson: Saavon O. Garner (Powder Springs, Ga), Gre granddaughter Assa O. Shekhem, and Gre-grandson Keilyn O. Garner of Kansas City, Missouri, Sister: Eunice Johnson – Terrell (Chicago, Illinois) , and Shelby E. Johnson (Kansas City, Kansas) as well as a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
