
Obituary for Mrs. Shirley Ann Wilson-Young
Mrs. Shirley Ann Wilson-Young was born September 23, 1946 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. First Born too Johnnie Mae Howard, Levi Jenkins and the oldest of five. Shirley was raised in the home of her grandmother, Inez A. Nelson, in Kansas City, Missouri. She lived an energetic, fun and vivacious life full of memories she cherished throughout her years. She was the mother to 7 children (3 boys and 4 girls) and two stepsons. She was a friend to many and loved by all who were able to share time with her. She was known for her cooking by those lucky enough to taste her famous peach cobbler, Macaroni and Cheese and more. She was previously married twice, before meeting the love of her life William Young, Jr. whom she spent 33 wonderful years with. Shirley was known for being very intelligent person even a young age. She gradued from Paseo High School and years ler returned to school to train as a medical assistant Concorde Career College where she gradued as Valedictorian. She worked Swope Parkway Health Center in the Homeless Department where she retired early due to health conditions. Unfortunely, in 2018 she was diagnosed with bladder cancer. She fought a hard btle undergoing chemotherapy, radiion and physical therapy. Throughout her illness she was able to keep a smile and laugh through her fears and anxiety. On Thursday, February, 13, 2020 5:10am she lost her btle with cancer and left to mourn her loving and cherished husband, William Young Jr., sister, Cordolia Gray (Tim), Brothers, Kevin (Adee) and Ectric Howard, Children, Alicia kins (James), LaChelle Wilson, Mark & Steve Young, Jabbar Tanner, Tauheedah Rideau (Earnest), Malika Steele, grandson, Mikal Hill Jr., entire Glrason Family, 11 grandchildren, 10 gre-grandchildren and a host of family and friends. She was proceeded in deh by both of her parents, grandmother, Godmother DeEtta Gleason, Sister, Camilla Howard, God Brothers, James and Tony Gleason, Two sons Romon Wilson and Andre Cornell-Steele and grandson, Peyton Stiles-Steele.
