Obituary for Mrs. Pinkie Mae Cooper

Pinkie Mae Cooper was the eighth child born to Henry Cooper and Mary Annie Ellison Cooper on August 22, 1946 in Wewoka, Oklahoma. Both parents and three brothers, Alva Cooper, Cecil Cooper and Henry Lee cooper preceded her in deh. Pinkie was a member of Greer Bethel Missionary Baptist Church where she served faithfully; she participed in the church choir, as church clerk and part of the missionary society. She loved her church family and often talked about the admirion she had for her Pastor and his leadership. One of Pinkie’s favorite songs was “Yes God is Real”. Pinkie had a heart for helping others. She spent the last 15 years of her life working day and night finding resources for those in need of shelter, food, rental assistance or any other problem she was aware of. She would exhaust every avenue to help solve a problem. She was so amazing serving others; she’s helped families find a place of residency in another ste, help furnish th home and kept up with the families to make sure they are doing okay. Pinkie worked hard as a Licensed Vocional Nurse (LVN) in California. She ler returned to Kansas City, Missouri and started her career Truman Medical Center. She returned to school to become a Registered Nurse and continued working Truman Medical Center until her retirement after 26 years. Pinkie’s purpose has been fulfilled, her goals achieved and she has reached her internal resting place in heaven. She leaves to celebre her homegoing, son Kerwin James Cooper Sr. of Kansas City, Missouri, daughter Lacresha Barbee of Kwazulu-Nal, South Africa and God son Charlie Sterling of St. Joseph, Missouri. Eight grandchildren Krystal Neal (Eric Neal), Brittney Cooper, Kerwin Cooper Jr., Javon Bradley, Keyaira Cooper, Creshaun Winfield, Allan Locks and Khanyisile Msomi. Two gre – grandchildren Eairain Neal and Kyree Nicholas of Kansas City, MO. Three sisters, Cenola Dale of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Henryetta Finney and Joyce Johnson of Kansas City, Missouri, and one brother Herbert L. Cooper Sr. of Seminole, Oklahoma. Five aunts, one uncle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to mention a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family.
