Obituary for Mrs. Leola Cooper

Mrs. Leola Cooper received her heavenly wings peacefully on Monday, March 9, 2020 with her loving son Eliseo Cooper, Sr. by her side St. Luke’s Hospital East in Lee’s Summit, MO. Leola is preceded in memory by her husband Steve Cooper, mother Mrs. Ida Mae Fleming and step fher Robert Fleming and fher O’Gene Johnson, sister Ruby Mae Rucker, one brother Samuel Johnson and one grandson Roosevelt Cooper.. Leola was the third of four children born on April 20, 1941 to the union of O’Gene Johnson and Ida Mae (Edge) Johnson Fleming in Turrell, Arkansas. The Johnson family reloced to Kansas City, MO where she accepted Christ an early age and receiving her educion within the Kansas City MO school district tending D. A. Holmes elementary school and Central Middle and High Schools. Leola’s working career was with the Imperial Underground Sprinkler Company retiring in 1985. She had a passion for cooking and made mouthwering pound cakes th everyone loved. She was an entrepreneur in the restaurant business. Leola then cared for her mother for many years and just loved being surrounded by her family from her children, grandchildren, siblings and nieces and nephews. Mrs. Leola Cooper transitions from labor to reward leaving to cherish her memory four sons David E Cooper(Carmelita) of Kansas City Missouri, Anthony C Cooper of Minnesota, Samuel L. Cooper of Kansas City, Missouri, and Eliseo L. Cooper Sr. of Kansas City, Missouri. One daughter Denise J. Cooper of Kansas City, Missouri and one daughter in love Phyllis Rose-Downton. One brother, O’Gene W. Johnson (Paula) of Perry, Kansas. Eight grandchildren, seven gre-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews with two very special nieces who also stayed by her side Jonette’ M. Johnson and Charlotte M. Rucker. Many friends who also called upon her throughout her journey.
