Mr. William Floyd Lewis

Mr. William Floyd Lewis 84, born May 17, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri; was the fourth child born to the union of Archie Thurmal Lewis, Sr. and Hannah (Richardson) Lewis. He passed away on Wednesday, August 10th, 2016. He was preceded in deh by both parents, Sisters Dorothy, Armentha Lorene, Gwendolyn Yolanda, Shirley Annetta and a set of stillborn twins. Floyd, as he was affectionely known, was educed in the Kansas City, Missouri school district tending Phyllis Wheley and Charles Sumner Elementary schools, R.T. Coles and Lincoln High schools. Upon graduion from high school, he enlisted in the United Stes Navy, being honorably discharged after serving four years. His employment history consisted of working for Richards Gebauer Air Force Base, United Sted Postal Service, and Veterans Hospital, where he retired in 1991 as a Mechanical Engineer. Floyd enjoyed life and was happy-go-lucky throughout his life. Although he never had any children of his own, he always tried to be a role model for his nieces and nephews. He sought to help any and all of his family members in any way th he could. His greest regret, after developing dementia, was th he could no longer remember the names of his family members. Floyd is survived by brothers: Archie Thurmal Lewis, Jr. (Christine) and d John Ervin, Sr. (Noreen), a beloved goddaughter Janna Hobley (Don), his first niece and caregiver, Pricia Bes (Douglas) and a host of other nieces and nephews, ALL of who will truly miss him.
