Mr. Richard Lee Alexander III

Richard Lee Alexander III was born on April 17, 1948 to the parents of Ellen V. Powell and Richard Lee Alexander II, who have now gone to be with The Lord. He was affectionely known as “Rich” to all those who knew and loved him and was raised in Kansas City, Kansas. He had only one sibling who was his younger sister Pricia Ann Guyton. She looked up to her big brother and they were very close. Pricia joined their parents to be with The Lord. After losing both of his parents a young age, Rich was taken in by his Aunt Metherine Powell who was a mother of five children. He was raised with his first cousins Donna, David, Charles, Michael, and Johnny Jackson. There, Rich credits his Auntie for teaching him good work ethics, values, morals, and how to be a good person. He began working a very young age and helped to contribute with the family’s household obligions. Rich was very well liked and respected by his friends while growing up in his neighborhood in Kansas. Rich completed high school and tended Kansas City Junior College and then moved to Northern California, where he transferred to San Jose Ste University in San Jose, California and studied Sociology. While residing there, he met and married his wife Brenda Meche’ Alexander of 27 years. Early on in their marriage, his mother-in-law passed away unexpectantly and they raised his wife’s younger brother, Bradford Lee Meche’ and put him through both high school and college. They had two beautiful daughters, Ella Dominique Alexander and Alexias Laureen Alexander. Their children went on to give them three precious grandchildren, Aava Laureen Alexander, Cali Malayah Alexander-Powell, and Brooklyn Mae Alexander-Powell. Rich was an avid fisherman and a huge sports fanic. He also enjoyed tending Jazz concerts with his friends and family as well as travelling. While in college, he played football and basketball then ler joined a local community club, where he played basketball for over two decades. Rich joined the Masonic Order in 1981 and was raised in King Solomon Lodge #20 of the Grand Lodge of California & Alaska AF & AM Internional in San Jose, California and remained there for many years. He was a career oriented individual and worked in management for over two decades and then went into owning his own restaurant, which was a longtime dream of his. His passion of having a Seafood Restaurant allowed him to live out his dream for over 10 years and this brought him much happiness. Ler when Rich went into retirement, he selected a position with a company th allowed him to help the elderly and this gave him joy. For everyone who knew Rich, they knew him to be a kind, forgiving, caring, and loving person who didn’t participe in “drama” of any kind. He was a prive person most times and enjoyed living a content and happy life. His friends and family knew they could always call on Rich when they were in need and he would be there for them. He loved spending time with his friends and family and enjoyed life, especially after retirement. Rich was a good person and grely respected. He will be missed by all those who love him, but we know th on August 14, 2020, he went to be alongside his loved ones with Our Almighty Fher in Heaven. May you rest in peace Rich, and forever know th you are dearly loved and will be grely missed by all.
