Obituary for Mr. Reginald “Reggie” Bernard Davis Sr.
Reginald “Reggie” Bernard Davis Sr. was born on August 17, 1941 in Kansas City, Mo to the union of John Davis Sr. and Mary Davis. Both parents preceded him in deh alongside his brothers; John Davis Jr, Robert Davis, Wendall Davis, James H. Davis Sr., and Alvin Davis Sr. Reginald’s oldest son Reginald “Joe” Davis Jr. also preceded him in deh. Reginald was educed in the local Kansas City area and he completed a certificion in electronics a local trade school when he was older. Reggie along with his brother Wendall and Harvey were one of the first to file a federal lawsuit in the local KC area for African Americans to be hired as journeyman and ironworkers. Reginald was a man who loved his family, coffee, sports, politics, and fishing. He had a gre sense of humor, creive nicknames, and elabore off-the-wall anecdotes. Reginald was a good cook and known for his famous rolls around special occasions. Reginald was a gre source of informion regarding family history and recent events. Reginald’s hugs, smile, and laughter will never be forgotten by those who got to experience them, and we will continue to share his legacy of family love amongst the family and our communities. Reggie leaves behind his life partner of 30 years Gloria Kittrell and a blended family of children; Michael (Brenda) Davis, Sandra Brown, Stanley Davis, Charles (Shelia) Davis, Sonya Davis, Angela Davis, Lena (Marcus) Hampton, Ernest Jackson, Fletcher Kittrell, Kimberly Kittrell, and Mitchell (Dana) Morris. Reginald leaves with his partner and children a plethora of grandchildren and gre-grandchildren. Left to cherish his memories are Reggie’s siblings Charles (Jaqueline) Davis Sr., Larry (Valerie) Davis, Bruce “Butch” (Arzelia) Davis, P (Peggy) Davis, and his sisters Sarah Davis, and Brenda Davis. Along with many beloved nieces and nephews, gre-nieces and gre-nephews, cousins, and friends.
