
Obituary for Mr. John Henry Lewis, Jr.
John Henry Lewis, Jr., was born October 19, 1966 in Inverness, Mississippi to John H. Lewis, Sr. and Dorothy Mae Simmons-Lewis, both of whom precede him in transition. The family reloced to Kansas City, Missouri in 1967. a very early age John found a love for sports, he would always carry around a football, Baseball or a Basketball in his hands. In 1975 the age of nine professed a hope in Christ the Swope Parkway Church of Christ. John began his educion E.C. Meservey elementary and went on to Gradue from Paseo High School in 1984, while Paseo he was a star running back for the Pires wearing number 44, he played his last game Chiefs Stadium as an allste running back. John was defiantly a person to love he was very outgoing, smart, cool and very hletic. He enjoyed playing cch with his older brothers as well as playing sports with all his neighborhood friends. John, was a gre hlete and had dreams to play professional football, due to health conditions he was not able to pursue his dream. A man of many talents and stellar potential. He was an amazing cook for St. Lukes Nutrition Services for many years, He ler went on to work for Stericycle as a Bio-Hazard Tech. Johns, health took a turn for the wose, but he refused to give up. He fought every day as the family continued to pray for things to turn around and change . GOD knew he was suffering , GOD knew he was in pain, so he wrapped his arms around him on June 16, 2020. John gained his wings. Proceeding him in transition are his grandmothers Mary King and Betsy Bradley; his sisters Brenda Lewis and Shirley Jones; brother Charles Simmons; nephew Val Jones. He leaves to cherish with loving memories his sister Linder Ann Lewis; three brothers Monterry Simmons, Aaron Simmons and James Williams; aunts Ella Mae Denton and Diane Bradley-White; uncles Robert Simmons (Karen), Johnny Ward and Thomas Bradley; neices Caressia Yancy(James), Alicia Bradley, Tyneshia Lewis (Cortez), Alanna Wigfall, Jameria, Jameisha and Jamyah Yancy, Mariyah Guerra and Ashley Greer; nephews Monta Simmons, Alanzo Wigfall Jr., Aaron Simmons Jr., Dequan Dunn and Adonis Guerra.
