Obituary for Maxine Boyd
Maxine Boyd, (77), resided in Kansas City, Missouri, she was born September 8, 1945 in Bernice, Louisiana to Willie B. Davis and Juanita Kennedy-Davis. Maxine Boyd moved to Kansas City, MO from Diboll, Texas around the age of 18 or 19. She was a vibrant, bold and fun lady to be around. She loved to cook and was very good at it. Family and friends enjoyed her delicious meals year round and especially on Thanksgiving and Christmas. She was also an animal lover. Her first and only employment was at the Truman Medical Center where she began her career on October 30, 1967. Maxine had a strong character and was very intelligent with quick witted humor. This contributed to her unique leadership style and ability to connect and command respect and love from her family, friends and co-workers. This God-given leadership ability was recognized and as she worked diligently she was promoted to the role of supervisor of the Environmental Services Department. She retired with honor after 30 plus years of excellent service. Her dedication, strong work ethic and generosity enabled her to receive an honorary Proclamation from the office of the county executive. She was noted and recognized by the designation of the Boyd-Waller Relaxation Room on May 28, 2009. This honor was acknowledged and congratulations we're given to Maxine by Senior Pastor Emmanuel Cleaver II member of Congress. Maxine was the fourth oldest child and youngest daughter of 9 children born to Willie B and Juanita Davis. She was preceded in death by her beloved John Mims and Foxy and Simone her beloved pets. Her oldest sister Willie Mae Burtin, brothers Robert Dan Davis, Henry Lee Davis, Larry Davis, Johnny Leroy Davis and Tony Davis. She is survived by her brother Kenny Ray Davis and sister Ruby Jean Davis-Stewart. Nieces and Nephews Cynthia D Camper and Sheila Stewart, Anthony Stewart, Milton Stewart, Keith Stewart, Reuben Stewart and Christopher Stewart. Great niece's and nephew Whitney R Evans, Rachel and Ian Randall, Celeste and Luke Lane and David R McDowell. William 'Shugg' Davis. Cecelia Davis, Anthony Davis and Johnny Davis Jr Great niece's and nephew 's Kemet Levels, 11 Kemiah Yisrael 7, Kenaniyah Yisrael 6, Kaiyah Yisrael -Cannon Baby 3 and Asha Lane 11 mos.
