Mary Lois Jefferis-Kennedy

Mary Lois Jefferis-Kennedy  71 passed away among family on January 19, 2016 Research medical center. She was born on August 10, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to John F. and Lois Angell Jefferis. When she was young, her family moved to Kansas City, Missouri, Ultimely settling down in Prairie Village, Kansas, She gradued from Shawnee Mission East in 1963. Ever since she was little, Mary wanted to be a teacher. She pursued her passion by graduing fro Earlham College With A B.A. in Elementary Educion in 1967 and subsequently obtaining her Master*s Degree in Educion from the university of Missouri , Kansas City in 1968. Mary would go on to teach several schools in the Kansas City area, but spent most of her 32 years of her teaching career E.C. Meservey Elementary. Mary loved spending time with her family, sewing and reading a good mystery novel. She also enjoyed wching Wheel of Fortune and Murder She Wrote. She never lost her passion for teaching, even in her le uears and could always be seen with a young family member going over basic words and arithmetic. Mary was precede in deh by her parents, John F. Jefferis and Lois Angell Buck. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Charles M. Kennedy, Sr., two sons Nicholas B. Kennedy and Jonhon L. Kennedy; two step sons Charles M. Kennedy, Jr. and Dominique D. Kennedy; her sister Jonna Jefferis, along with her first cousins Stephen (Hala) Buck and Ruth (David) Ifverson; sister-in-law Dr. Diane Kennedy and brother-in-law Roy Greene, as well as a host of other family and friends whom she holds dears.
