Obituary for Malachi Isaiah McCallop, Sr.

Malachi Isaiah McCallop, Sr. was born to James Henderson and Tieara Renee McCallop on March 3, 2004, in Kansas City, Missouri.

At a young age, Malachi accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at Mount Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri under the pastoral leadership of Pastor Tim Morgan. He attended school in Kansas City Public Schools and Grandview School District.

Growing up Malachi played baseball, football, and basketball alongside his first best friend, and younger brother James. They were only 11 months apart. Malachi and James had a very special bond through thick and thin. When you saw one, you saw the other. He also enjoyed playing the drums at church.

In 2020, he became a father to Malachi Isaiah McCallop, Jr (MJ). Malachi worked as a lawn serviceman for Lee’s Summit Lawn Care and as a security officer for Titan Security.

Malachi was affectionately known by his friends as “Fatboy”. He enjoyed music, football, and hanging out with his loved ones.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Tieara Renee McCallop, and his great-grandparents, Edward McCallop, Sr., Joseph Henderson, and Marjorie Henderson.

He leaves to cherish his son, MJ, one brother - James Henderson, Jr., two grandmothers, Rhonda McCallop-Fletcher and Shirley Graham, one grandfather Jerry Barber, two great-grandmothers, Patricia Elaine McCallop and Betty Williams, three aunts - Antonia Fletcher, Latocia Blackman, and Ka-Kella Henderson, one nephew, James Henderson, III. and a host of cousins, extended family and friends who will cherish the life of Malachi Isaiah McCallop, Sr.
