Obituary for Lydia Reese

Till the day he called her home on Thursday September 3, 2015 Mrs. Lydia Elaine Thompson-Reese was born in Beaumont, Texas on July 20, 1966 to Lionel and Frances Thompson. Born and raised in Beaumont, TX, Lydia gradued from Beaumont Charlton Pollard High School in 1989, Lydia moved to Oceanside, CA where she met, fell in love and ler in marred her husband Dominic E. Reese, this union was just celebred with 25 years. Lydia moved to Kansas City, dediced her life to Christ and was a member of This Rock Christian Tabernacle, ler moving her membership to Concord Fortress of Hope Church. . Lydia was preceded in deh by her son James Henry Thompson, her Fher Lionel Thompson (whom she loved very much), her grandmother Bertha Allen and grandparents Timothy and Lydia Farris, and nephew Alexander Adams. Although moving to “the City” as Lydia was a country girl from heart, she loved fishing, gardening, planting and cooking. Her southern hospitality followed her wherever she went. She made the best pecan candy in the world (it’s a down south thing). Lydia loved and truly believed in her family and she was loyal to th belief. She worked in the Food Industry where she was employed by the Shalom Geriric Nursing Home, then coming to the Blue Valley School District in 2006, Was a friend and mother to all she knew. Lydia had lots of wisdom to whom she credited her Grandmother, Bertha Allen. If you were blessed to know Lydia or had the pleasure to be around her, you knew th she loved to feed people. Lydia was a loving mother, faithful wife and sweet daughter, amazing sister, nannyshort, awesome grandmother and compassione Aunt. She was also the type of person who wanted to see her savior. Lydia will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Dominic Reese, Children; Quintin (Erica) Ashley, Azalee, Darrin all of (Beaumont/KC), (mother), Frances Augustus, Step Fher Dalton Augustus (Belinda), Sister’s Bertha Allen, (Roy), Venus Augustus, Grandchildren, Courtney, Jayvon, John, Niyah, Elaza, Jameer, DeAndre, Keymn, Autum & Wynter and a host of Nieces, nephews and good friends.
