Obituary for Loris Burks

Loris Burks 80 passed away on October 28, 2015 was born March 2, 1935 in Crawfordville, Arkansas to Nhaniel and Claudia Wallace. Loris spent her childhood in Crawfordville, where she received her formal educion and was baptized there an early age. Loris came to Kansas City in 1949 age fourteen (14) and age 18 she met and married Herman Gray. She became a member of Prince of Peace Baptist Church , in her ler years sing with the woman choir. She loved to sing. In 2009 she joined New Home C.O.G.I.C. until her passing. She was a faithful member. When Loris came to Kansas City, her first job was Rosedale Barbeque. She ler went to work faultless Cleaners, but her real passion was her love for children. She became a licensed Day Care provider for the ste of Missouri. Everybody in the neighborhood wanted her to care for their children because they knew she was a good, loving mother and would do a good job caring for their children. She loved to cook, clean and knit. Loris enjoyed music, dancing shopping and travel. Loris departed this earthly existence, for her eternal life Wednesday, October 28, 2015. Proceeding her in deh are her parents Nhaniel and Claudia Wallace; both husbands Herman Gray and Charlie Burks; sister Marie Enois; brother Nhaniel Wallace Jr;daughters Glenda Gray, Jacquelyn Nicholson and JoAnn Franklin; nephew Falah Raheem; granddaughter Tieisha Stewart; sister in law Helen Gray-Milton; brothers in law Nhaniel Gray and Fred Milton. Loris Gray-Burks, leaves to cherish her loving spirit, four beautiful daughters Joy Gray of Kansas City, Missouri, Yvonne Gray of Las Vegas, Nevada, Yvette Gray-Slaughter (Darryl) of Grandview, Missouri and Nicole Joseph (Joseph) of Independence, Missouri; two sons Ronnie Gray of Setle, Washington and Glen Gray (Ina) of Ky, Texas; two sisters in law Lucille Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri and Wilma Wallace of Memphis, Tennessee; brother in law Chester Gray (Jody) of Kansas City, Missouri; two neices Beverly Doyle and Brenda Doyle both of Kansas City, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, 3 gre-grandchildren, a host of relives and friends.
