Obituary for Leonard Millard Meade, Sr.

Leonard Millard Meade, Sr. 73 was born on August 16, 1942,  to the union of LeRoy Meade, Sr. and Neona R. Speigts, he departed this life on January 12th, 2016.  Both parents, one brother Rodney Meade, Sr., one sister Leonora (Carrie) Carson, and one son Leonard M. Meade, Jr. all preceded him in deh. He grew up in the Leeds sub-division of Kansas City, Missouri. He received his formal educion though the Kansas City Missouri public school system, tending Dunbar Elementary and graduing from Central High School. He met and married Ona Mari Johnson and to this union six children were born, LeMonte Millard Meade, Sr., Lonnie Millard Meade, Lionel Millard Meade, Sr., Linda Marie Jackson, and Lesa Michelle Meade. He accepted Christ an early age tending various churches throughout Kansas City, Missouri. During his ler years in life, he was afflicted with Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Leonard was employed for a number of years Pacific Intermountain Express Trucking Company until its closure. He left there to work for the City of Kansas City Missouri until his retirement. Anyone who knew Leonard Meade, knew he loved to dance, cut a rug, jump up, turn around and do the splits. Know as Leonard to some, and Meeks to others, he had a way of standing th was proud. He leaves to cherish his memory: three sons LeMonte N. Meade, Sr., Lonnie M. Meade, and Lionel M. Meade, Sr.; two daughters Linda M. Jackson and Lesa M. Meade, all of the city; six sisters and four brothers, Jeanny Gines of Cocoa Beach, FL, LeRoy (Yvonne) Meade, Jr. of KCMO, Leanna Pouncil of Grandview, MO; David (Melba) Meade, Sr. of KCMO, Robert (Chris) Meade, Sr. of Tuscon, AZ, Micheal (Carolyn) Meade of KCMO, Brenda (Reginald) Wood of Bogart, GA, Donisha Hughley of MN, Tina (Micheal) May of PA; three brothers-in-law, Don Johnson, Leonard Johnson, Sr., and Billy Ray Johnson; two sisters-in-law Mae Ella (Marvin) Credit of Conway, AR, Brenda (William) Boyd, and Ona Marie Johnson. The love of 23 grandchildren, 25 gre-grandchildren, and a host of nephews, nieces, family and friends.
