Born on May 9, 1951, in Cotton Plant, Arkansas, Kathlyn was the cherished daughter of Mamie Bogan and Willie Perkins Jr. She had 13 siblings. Kathy dedicated her life to caring for others. She worked with grace and compassion as a nurse at Swope Ridge for 33 years, followed by several years as a caregiver at Milton Healthcare. Even in retirement, she continued her mission of service as a Senior Companion volunteer, supporting older and disabled adults in Jackson County for four years. Her deep commitment to elder care was also reflected in her completion of the Geriatric Nursing Assistance Specialist program at Penn Valley Community College. Love was preceded in death by her children, Michael Brown and Tamika Manning (Carl Manning). She is survived by her devoted son, Oliver Brown Jr. (Victoria Brown), and her niece and second daughter in spirit, Cassandra Bogan. Siblings Janice Jackson, Michael Jackson, Kenneth Perkins, Audrey Jackson, Kevin Jackson, Karen Jackson, Brenda Jackson, and Kenny Ray Perkins. Her legacy of love lives on through her grandchildren: Dominique Brown, Ebony Brown, Joh*nese Smith, De*Shaunna Hayes-Hand (Tandra Hand), Kae*Vionna Cole, Maurtre Brown (Priscilla Brown), and Micah Manning*as well as a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family. Kathy's life was filled with faith, family, and joy. Whether at church, in the park, at the boat, or simply sharing a meal, her presence brought people together. She made a promise to her late sister Sandra Bogan to watch over her daughter Doozy and her children Joh*nese, J*Quan, granddaughter Calyiah and she fulfilled that promise wholeheartedly. Wherever you saw them, you saw her: smiling, loving, guiding. In the words of Cassandra Bogan: *So many precious memories to cherish for a lifetime. She was Our heart. We are going to miss her TREMENDOUSLY.* Kathy's warmth, generosity, and boundless heart touched every life she encountered. Her legacy is one of strength, service, and steadfast love.
