Julia A. Walters (Candy)

Julia A. Walters (Candy) was born to the late Adolf Pratt and Beatrice Sims in Kansas City, Missouri on March 2, 1944. Julia Walters met and married Jackie Walters; they were married 62 years. To this union was born one daughter, Patricie Ann Walters and one son Anthony Tyrone Walters. She also had a son Rodney Sims and daughter Deborah Walters. Julia worked as a nurse for several nursing homes, however she retired from Highland Rehabilitation and Health Care Center after twenty years of service. Her hobbies included bowling, crafts (making tablecloths, napkins, and rugs), playing bid whist, spades and dominoes. She also cooked her favorite meals for the family that included dinner rolls, pasta salad, spaghetti, chicken and fish. She departed this earthly life on Monday, October 14, 2024. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age. She attended Cain Grant AME of Kansas City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband Jackie Walters, son Anthony Tyrone Walters, mother, Beatrice Sims, father, Adolf Pratt, brother Norman Sims, and sister Norma Batee. She graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, Missouri Julia leaves behind to celebrate her life and legacy: son Rodney Sims (Brenda), daughters Patrice Walters, and Deborah Foster. Grandchildren, Doneil Walters (Tonalissa), Andrew Belcher (Shannon), Wysheema Walters, Samuel Foster, Tiffanie Foster, Stacy Hunt, Tracy Hunt, Deidre Walters, Aaron Woodslee, and Lakeitha Sims Morales (Ace). Great Grandchildren Doneisha Walters, Dominaya Belcher, Phoena* Belcher and Traquon Hunt. Great-Great Grandchild Ty*veon Belcher. Siblings Ernest Sims and Clearance Sims. Special nephew Tony Strother, special niece Stephanie Smith and a host of uncles, aunties, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held, Tuesday, October 29, 2024. at the Elite Chapel 11525 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM, Service 11:00 AM. Interment private.
