James L. Russell

James L. Russell ,79, passed on January 7, 2019 and was born July 27, 1939 to the union of Lonnie and Lillie Russell in talla, Alabama. James was baptized an early age. As a youngster he and his older brother Johnnie sang in various church choirs in talla and Buffalo. He was blessed to sing the Nional Baptist Convention. The Russell family moved to Buffalo, NY in the 40’s. James was educed in the Buffalo Public School System. He also tended college briefly. James was employed General Motors in Buffalo, NY. and Defiance, OH. for over 38 years before his retirement. James transitioned to his eternal rest on January 17, 2019. Preceding him in deh were his parents Lonnie and Lillie Russell, two brothers Johnnie and Steven, a son Nicholas Russell, his fher-in-law Martin Holmes, and two brother in-laws Rahn and Steven Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of over 20 years, Monica Russell, his Mother-in-Laws, Christine B. Holmes, two daughters, Nichole Te and Rena Russell-Webster, one sister Rosalind Hammet (Sonny), three sisters in-laws, Courtney Jones, Terri Johnson (Kenny) and Vernee-Cheeks, three brother in-laws, Martin and Chrisropher Holmes and Willie Speed (Laura). A host of grand children, gre grand children, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members
