James Carter

James Carter 78 passed away on April 24, 2016 was born February 10, 1938 in Werproof, Louisiana to Mary Ella Carter and Carneal Carter. He was baptized an early age by the le Rev. Benard Irving and became a member of the Richland Baptist Church. James was educed in the Tensas Parish Public School System and gradued from Tensas Rosenwald High School. After graduion he joined the military ( U.S. Army). After returning from the military, James moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked Owens and Corning’s Fiber Glass Company for numerous years. He ler worked for Deffenbaugh Industries where he retired. James was preceded in deh by his parents Carneal Carter, Sr. and Mary Ella Carter, his first wife, Josie Edwards, one sister, Lucille McCraine, two brothers, Carneal Carter, Jr., and Lenester Carter, one daughter, Lreace Renee McCloud, and one son, Derrick Edwards. James was a kind-hearted person who loved to talk. All he need was someone to listen. He could be hilarious times. He likes to respond when talking by rhyming. Often when wching TV he’d say to the gangster- “You’re going down clown”. Sometime if you asked him to do something he’d say, “OK BAY-BAY.” James will be grely miss by family and friends. James leaves behind to cherish his memory a beloved wife, Wanda Luster of Kansas City, MO; two daughters, Ursula Carter of Glenburnie, MD; Arletha Cummings of Kansas City, MO; three sons, Michael Luster and Charles Brown of Kansas City, MO, and Willie L. Edwards of New Orleans, LA; one brother Raymond Carter (Lucille) of Werproof, LA; four sisters Bessie Dyer of Kenner, LA, Susie C. Jackson of Bon Rouge, LA, Eloise Carter of Tuskegee, AL, Mary Lee (Arthur) of Werproof, LA; four grandchildren Tyisha Cer, Michael McCloud, Caleb Rogers, Shania Gipson, along with a host of other relives and friends.11525 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64134
