Obituary for George Wesley Gilliam III

George Wesley Gilliam III 57, passed July 4, 2019 was born to the le George Gilliam Jr and Lovie (Roby) Gilliam December 5, 1961 in Hope, Arkansas. He was also preceded in deh by step fher George Morris. an early age George and his family reloced to Kansas City, Missouri where he received his educion in the Kansas City, Missouri school system. After receiving specialized training the age of 16 he gained employment the Kansas City Zoo working with animals. George especially enjoyed working with the elephants. His favorite was named “Casey”. As a young adult George moved to Saint Louis, Missouri where he resided most of his adult life. While in Saint Louis he was an employee of Barnes Jewish Hospital and worked Busch Stadium as a member of the event staff for many years. George was an avid sports fan always cheering for the Cardinals, Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed spending time playing his guitar, playing cards and was always available to spend quality time with family and friends any occasion. The love and heart of his life was his only daughter Georgette and his grandson Jayone’. George also found love and married his wife Chely L. Gilliam in June 2013. George was a devoted fher, grandfher, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his memory: His wife Chely L. Gilliam of Saint Louis, Missouri ; one daughter Georgette(Jaquwon) Lottie of Saint Louis, Missouri ; 1 grandson Jayone’ Thompson-Wson Saint Louis, Missouri ; his mother Lovie S. Gilliam of Kansas City, Missouri ; 7 sisters : Lovina Gilliam, Rosa(Jake) Davids, Williette Gilliam, Sheila Gilliam, Christina(Jason) Williamson, and Betty Garrison all from Kansas City, Missouri and Stephanie Stafford of Leesburg, Virginia; 3 brothers : James E. Roby of Kosciusko, Mississippi, Sidney(Cassundra) Gilliam, and Vincent Gilliam from Kansas City, Missouri. Along with a host of Aunts, Uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends all of whom he held a special fondness for. George also leaves his Uncle Ike(Arystine) who he was like a son to, and Dovie Simmons a special family friend whom he referred to as his second mother.
