Obituary for George Banks, Jr.

George Banks, Jr. 73 passed away April 17, 2016 in Kansas City, Mo. He was born March 12, 1943 in Darlove, Mississippi to George Banks and Rosie Lee Webster-Banks. George is preceded in deh by parents, his brother Lonzo Banks and gre grandchild Malachi Lee.   He received his formal educion in Greenville, Mississippi Lucy Webb elementary school and gradued from Coleman High School. He accepted Christ age sixteen and joined with Greer Bethlehem Baptist Church, ler New White Stone Baptist Church of Greenville, after coming to Kansas City he joined with Skylight MBC, ler moving his membership to Evangelistic Center in Kansas City, Kansas under the pastore of Bishop Jack C. Vaughan.    He moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1968 and began working Rival Manufacturing, KU Medical Center, Curls Maintenance and ler retiring from the Blue Valley School District in the maintenance department in 2009, but missed working so much he left retirement and returned to work after five months because *I got tired of sitting around*.  George married the former Ms. Johnnie Mae Bingham, together they raised a total of eleven children. He enjoyed family life spending time with family and friends mentoring young people with life skills. George loved to work on automobiles, wching sports and the history and travel channels. He had a very humorus personality, always making those he was around laugh. He leaves to cherish with fond and loving memories his loving wife Johnnie M. Banks of the home; sons Michael E. Miller, Christopher J. Miller; daughters Ann Rushing(Donald), LaVera Banks, Deborah Banks, Johnette Stewart, Shkeenna Banks, Kimberley Hill, Paqueshia Stemmons (Jaerard), Camillia Miller- Strickland (Todd) and Janet Garrett; thirty-four grandchildren, twenty-seven gre grandchildren, first cousin Leah Braxton of Memphis, TN; second cousin James E. Pope (Julia) of Greenville, MS..; nephew James Banks of Cleveland, MS.; a host of relives and many friends.
