Obituary for Ernestine Jones

Minister Ernestine *Ernie* Jones 67 passed away on December 29, 2018 in Kansas City, Kansas. Minister Ernestine (Carter) Jones was born January 15, 1951 in Cincinni, OH. She was preceded in deh by her parents, Arlie Lee and Annabell Lindsey. She was one of seven children who grew up in a Christian home and received Christ as her savior the early of age 12. Ernestine was ordained through Faith Family Life Center of Lorain, OH by Pastor Alvin and Diana Lindsey. She received her ministry license from Aenon Bible College in Indianapolis, IN. She received an Associe of Arts Degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College and was an Honors Gradue of Upper Iowa University in Fayetteville, IA with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Services. She was employed with the Department of Veteran Affairs and was adored by her co-workers and peers. Ernestine loved to sing and especially enjoyed being a member of the New Harvest Community Choir. Ernestine also loved traveling, working in the church and serving in her community. She conducted home bible studies, performed weddings, delivered eulogies, coordined, conducted, and spoke many women*s conferences and workshops. Her passions included teaching, intercessory prayer and counseling. She enjoyed reading, going to school, and fervently ministered the Gospel of Jesus Christ through preaching and teaching the word of God for over 30 years. Minister Jones has worked in many areas of church ministry to include: Radio Broadcast Announcer, Mistress of Ceremonies, Praise and Worship Leader, Sunday School Member and Teacher, Choir Member, Director and President of the Women*s Ministry, Youth Pastor, Church Counselor, Prison and Nursing Home Minister. She is survived by her husband, Harold Jones; her children, Troy L. Carter, Stacey L. Carter-Porter (McKenzie and Jordan), and Corey D. Carter (Corey, Jr); her siblings: Pastor Arlie Lee Lindsey Jr (Carmen), Edith Grant (Raymond), Pastor Alvin Lindsey (Diana), Arabell Saxon (Lewis), Edward Lindsey (Gwen), and Pastor Eric Lindsey, her step-daughters: Veronica M. Jarrett (Imani, Jurni, and Jones) and Angela Y. Reid (Qu*ara, Shea II, and Amari), all of whom she loved very much
