Dorothy Ree Hollins

Dorothy Ree Hollins,78 was born January 30, 1939 in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the union of Bill Rose and Lillie Mae Hollins. Dorothy departed this life August 9, 2017. Both parents and a daughter Pamela Amos, preceded her in transition. She began her formal educion in Clarksdale and finished when the family ler reloced to St. Louis, Missouri. Dorothy had an ample passion for learning and knowledge. She had such a passion she skipped several grades and tutored those who were in grades senior to her own. She enjoyed reading and would finish an entire novel in a variety of lengths and chapters in one day. Dorothy, was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ an early age. While living in St. Louis, she raised two children Sharon Hollins and Zachary Blocker. She also assisted in the rasing of other children. She was married to Johnny Virgin, who also preceded her in deh. Dorothy was the kind of person who made friends everywhere she went. She was very lovable, and would not allow anyone to go hungry. ler moving to Kansas City, Missouri to be near family and to help in the raising of her grandchildren. While in the city, she made more friends and became affectionely known as “Granny” the one th didn’t take no mess and you couldn’t help but love. In her spare time, she loved to cook for family and friends, thrifty store shopping. She enjoyed the blues, dancing, reading and wching her stories; “The Young and the Stupid and The Bold and The Bossom”. Dorothy leaves to cherish with fond and loving memories; two children Zachary Blocker (Mona) and Sharon Hollins; nine grandchildren Yachtkema, Keyanna, Chrystal “Baby Cakes” Hollins, Keasha “Sweet Cakes” Chase, Zamiah Blocker, Keyron Clark, Zachary R. Blocker, Jr., Zamarion Blocker and Namiah Blocker; gre-grandchildren Jhyaicia Hollins, Jhyalia Henry, Kenyune Hollins and Jhy Prince Henry. A host of family members and many friends.
