Obituary for Donald L. Madison Jr.

Donald L. Madison Jr. entered this life on Dec. 31, 1964. He was the first of three children born to Donald L. Madison Sr. and Janice Marie (Moore) Madison. He was preceded in death by his parents. Donnie was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri. Growing up, he left one of the best impressions on whoever came in his presence. He was educated in the Kansas City School District and was active in ROTC. He graduated from Lincoln Academy in 1983 and went on to Lincoln University for two years of college. Donnie returned home and became an employee for the City of Kansas City for 23 years, working in multiple roles including surveyor and supervisor. Donnie dedicated his life to his family. He was a true mama*s boy, spoiling her with unconditional love. He spent quality time with his nephews and cousins, enjoying movies, music, and car shows. He also gave unconditional love and fun experiences with his daughter*s brothers and sister. He was a debonaire dresser and always left a great scent in the room. Donnie was loving with a gentle heart and had a huge sense of humor. This kind-tempered, hardworking man also had a love for large dogs. He was an all-around man who took total care of his family, from barbecuing to handling electrical installations. Through the years, he went through several health issues; however, he maintained a positive attitude and fought hard to make gains. He took his rest on April 23, 2024. He will be greatly missed and we will always love him. He leaves to cherish his memory one daughter, Kara Edgerson; sister, Kimberly Walker (Carlton Sr.); brother, Marlon L. Madison Sr.; Aunts: Betty J. Porter, Diane Monroe, and Vicki Hazley; uncle, David Moore Sr.; niece, Kristana Haggins (Tyre); Nephews: Deandre Madison, Marlon Madison Jr., and Carlton Walker Jr.; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.
