Obituary for Devin Clayton Douglas
Devin Clayton Douglas was born on August 11, 1989, to Dale Douglas and Anita "Cookie" Douglas. Surrounded by the love of family and friends throughout his life, Devin peacefully departed this life on August 10, 2026, one day before his 37th birthday.
Devin was a devoted family man whose guiding principle was simple yet profound: "Family First." Those who knew him understood that he lived those words every day. He was a loving husband-to-be, a wonderful father, a caring son, brother, nephew, cousin, and loyal friend. His family was the center of his world, and he found his greatest joy in caring for and supporting those he loved.
A hardworking and ambitious entrepreneur, Devin pursued excellence from an early age. After graduating from high school, he earned both his electrical and plumbing licenses, building a career through dedication, skill, and determination. His strong work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit earned him the respect of colleagues, customers, and friends alike.
Devin will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for the warmth he brought into every room. His infectious sense of humor, kind heart, and smile that could warm anyone's soul made him beloved by many. Whether offering encouragement, sharing a laugh, or lending a helping hand, Devin touched countless lives and created memories that will be cherished forever.
Holding a special place in his heart was his beloved fiancée, Krishna "Rozy" Smith, and the apple of his eye, his precious daughter, Ajah Dior Douglas, whom he loved beyond measure. Becoming a father was one of Devin's greatest joys, and he treasured every moment spent with his daughter.
Devin leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, Anita "Cookie" Douglas; one brother, Michael Cleaves; two sisters, Kesha Cleaves and Brittany Douglas; three special friends, Amoray Barnes, Deondre Smith, and Howard "Jet" Walker; two aunts, Bea "Candy" Hart-Sims (Ernie Sims) and Gayle Douglas; one uncle, Michael Douglas; his cherished cousin, aunt, sister, advisor, and friend, Renita Ashley; along with a host of other relatives and dear friends whose lives were forever blessed by knowing him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Douglas; his grandmothers, Cleo Hart and Ella Douglas.
Though Devin's earthly journey has ended, his legacy of love, laughter, strength, and unwavering devotion to family will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His life was a testament to the belief that family comes first, and his memory will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
"Those we love don't go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed, and forever dear."
