Debra L. Wilkins

Debra Louise Wilkins was born on September 05, 1952 in Greenville, NC. She was preceded in death by her mother Josephine Clemons, father Fred Gray, brothers Ayres " Chuck" Gray, Douglas Gray, Fred Gray Jr, Leonard Gray and Zeno Gray, sisters: Betty Sue Pitt, Deotha McNair and Freda Mae Taylor; grandmother Hattie Gray who raised her. Debra attended WH Robinson HS in Winterville, NC where she met the love of her life in 1968. On August 24, 1970, she gave birth to son Brian Keith Wilkins. September 9, 1971 Debra was married to Willie Wilkins. She spent several years in Germany and on February 18, 1973 Debra gave birth to daughter Kandi Swoope. Debra joined and was an active member of the Masonic Family (Eastern Stars) in 1974. In 1984 the family arrived in Grandview, MO where Debra was employed by Sam's Wholesale Club for 28 years and retired. She was added to the body of Christ and was an active member in the Swope Parkway Church of Christ. She volunteered in the Benevolence ministry cooking for the community faithfully each week, sharing her gift of cooking and fellowship. She enjoyed making flower arrangements, shopping, traveling and above all things, spending time with family and friends. She leaves to cherish her memories her devoted husband Willie Wilkins; son Brian Wilkins (Kansas City, MO); daughter Kandi Swoope (son-in-love Eric Swoope) (Lee's Summit, MO); sisters Arsolar Clemons (Bronx, NY) and Sandra Gray (Greenville, NC), Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Debra Louise Wilkins, 70, departed this life and was called home on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 10:05 AM in Honolulu, Hawaii with her loving family by her side.
