Charlesetta Alex-Gillespie

Charlesetta Alex-Gillespie, 87, passed away December 12, 2025 in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born to the union of Sydney Alex and Margaret Jamerson-Alex in Bristow, Oklahoma on December 17, 1937. Both parents, her sister Lorraine Burke and grandparents Robert and Sallie Jamerson preceded her in transition. She received her primary education in Bristow, the family later relocated to Kansas City where she attended RT Coles middle school and graduated from Lincoln High School. She accepted GOD at an early age. She attended Gilbert Memorial AME Church in Leeds and later Eastside Missionary Baptist Church, serving in the church and becoming a Mother of the Church. Charlesetta, worked for the Kansas City, Missouri School District and retired from the District after many years of service, later she went on to become a foster grandparent volunteer at Children s Mercy Hospital, in addition to helping raise her nieces, nephews as well as great nephews and nieces. She is survived by her Nephews Reginald Alex, Darrell & Torri Alex; Nieces Margaret Alex, Trena Burke, Tarland Burke. A host of great nieces and nephews, church family and friends.   Funeral service held Saturday, December 20, 2025 visitation held from 10:00-11:00 AM with funeral service at 11:00 AM Eastside Missionary Baptist Church 6401 E 38th Street Kansas City MO.
