Charlene L. Lewis-Gunnels

Charlene L. Lewis-Gunnels 64 passed away on July 26, 2015, was born January 19, 1951, in Kansas City, Kansas to Blanche V. McClain and John R. Lyle. Charlene was raised in Kansas City, MO and received her educion D.A. Holmes, Central Junior High, and Central Senior High schools. She was employed AAA Linen Supply and various night clubs throughout the city. Charlene was preceded in deh by both parents, grandparents Charles and Khryn Lewis; aunts Mary K. Drew, Barbara L. Smith, and Jacqueline Guest; sisters Jean R. Lyle and Sharon Kay Gaines; brothers Jackson R. Lyle, James R. Lyle, Jerry L. Lyle, John L. Willis III; grandson William Gunnels; cousins Ben Parker, George Parker, Ronald Drew, and William ‘Chipper’ Mallard.Charlene loved the Lord and as a child she tended Jamison Temple C.M.E. Church with her gre grandmother Blanche A. Monroe. She ler joined Community Fellowship Church of Jesus Christ.Charlene married Ronald Gunnels in 1967 and to this union three sons were born. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband Ronald Gunnels, Sr.; stepfher Joseph E. McClain; sons Ronald Gunnels, Jr., Clinton Gunnels (Michelle), Snoopy S. Gunnels, and Mark Benson, all of the city; sisters Chevonne Henderson (Ray), Tyvette Washington (Damon), Joan Willis, and Jewell P. Lyle of the city, Joyce Lyle of Minnesota, Elaine Buford of California; brothers Robert Willis, Freddie Lyle, Glenn Hemingway, Sr., Stanley Bell, Alfred Brown, and James Rankins all of the city; 27 grandchildren; 12 gre grandchildren; special cousin Pricia Mallard; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relives and friends.
