Brenda Love

Brenda Love of Kansas City, Missouri, entered eternal rest, leaving a legacy of steadfast faith, loving service, and quiet strength. Born in Monroe, Louisiana, on March 22, 1957, to Willie A. and Gracie Willet-Perkins, Brenda moved with her family to Kansas City at a young age. She was a proud graduate of Manual High School, Class of 1975, and later earned her Associate in Arts degree from Penn Valley Community College.

From an early age, Brenda accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior. She united with Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. A. L. Johnson Sr., and later worshiped under Pastor Michael E. Brooks at The Oasis Church International. A devoted and active church member, Brenda sang in the choir, served faithfully on the usher board, and taught both Sunday School and Vacation Bible School—pouring into generations with patience, warmth, and wisdom.

Guided by her heart for children and education, Brenda served her community through a lifelong calling in early childhood and K–5th grade support. She worked at The Children’s Place and in various schools within the Kansas City, Missouri School District as a paraprofessional, where she was known for her compassion and unwavering advocacy for students. She also taught as an Infant–Toddler Specialist at The Francis Institute at Penn Valley College, where she helped shape the next generation of caregivers and educators.

Brenda earned her wings on May 30, 2026 and she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jamal D. “Honey” Love, Sr.; her parents, Willie A. and Gracie Willet-Perkins; her brothers and sisters: Lester Willet, Mary Ann Perkins, Faye Jean Perkins, Bertha Lee Dixson, Leonard Lee Perkins, Patsy Lottie Mary Revels, and Irving Perkins.

She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Jamal D. Love, Jr.; Ebony Joyce Love; Terry O. Love; Terrell J. Riley; Dale L. Harper (Aisha Mohammad); and Darius A. Randolph. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Preston A. Dice, Alayna L. Dice, Precious Love, Savanna Love, Jaslyn Love, Jada Love, Jayden L. Riley, Jaliah Riley, Taliah Harper, Takya Harper, Tanayah Harper, and Tayja Harper. She is survived by her siblings Donald Perkins (Pamela Perkins), Diane Perkins, and Sandra Perkins; her former husband, Dale Randolph; and an abundant host of nieces, nephews, cousins, church family, colleagues, and dear friends too numerous to name—each touched by her kindness and faith.

Brenda’s life was a testament to service—rooted in the church, centered on family, and lived for the good of others. Her gentle smile, encouraging words, and steadfast belief in the potential of every child will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
