Obituary for Emma Mae Haynes-Harris
Emma Mae Haynes also known as *DOLL* was born on 9/20/1938 in Carson, MS to Sadie Mae Parchman(whom she referred to as *My Dear*) and Joseph Haynes. She received her early education throughout the state of Mississippi, completing her primary schooling before pursuing further training in cosmetology. She attended cosmetology school in Memphis, Tennessee, where she earned her cosmetology license. With determination and strength, she later moved herself and her two children to Kansas City, Missouri, where she met and married David Harris who proceeded her in death. Together, they built a life and a home, purchasing their house in 1967 a place she lovingly resided in for over five decades until 2023. She dedicated many years of service to AT&T(formerly Western Electric)retiring as a phone operator in Lee*s Summit, MO. In retirement, she continued to give of herself by volunteering with Meals on Wheels of Johnson County, a role that reflected her caring and generous spirit. She was known by all who knew her as kind, loving, thoughtful, and welcoming, with a beautiful smile and impressionable laugh! She deeply cherished time with visitors and held a special love for her grandchildren and siblings, whom she adored immensely. Her life was one marked by devotion to family, service to others, and a quiet strength, leaving a lasting legacy of love and compassion. Preceded in death: David Harris (husband),Joseph Haynes(father), Sadie Parchman(mother),her only daughter Joyce Haynes-Williams, Emma Haynes(stepmother),Joseph Haynes III(brother),sister Arleather McDaniels, and Delores Agee, L.A. and June, (Brothers),as well as Kyle Clayton(Grandson), and Kyle Clayton Jr(great-grandson). Leaves to cherish her memory: Ronald Buggs Sr,(son), Grand daughter Janna Clay(Reggie II),Sadye Clay(great-grand daughter), Shya Clay(great-granddaughter) Reggie Clay III(great-grandson), Grand daughter Ebony Buggs(Lawrence),Jayson Hailey(great-grandson),Carl Williams Jr(grandson), Canary Williams(great-granddaughter) and Ronald Buggs Jr.(grandson). Brothers: Tom Winston Jr.(Dorthaer), Sisters: Dorothy Gregory Chicago , IL, Kathryn Leggett, Lucille Lee (Richard), Reather Banks, and a host nieces, and nephews. Funeral service held Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Roswell Church of Christ 2900 Roswell Ave., Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation 10:00-11:00 AM Service 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Memorial.
