Dennis Wesley Herring

Dennis Wesley Herring was born March 8, 1954 to Birdis O. Herring Jr. and Priscilla L. Lewis Herring Ford. His parents, three brothers, Birdis III, Walter and Bernes (Herb), grandparents, Birdis Sr. and Roger Herring,Percival and Finnetta Sturges, and Aunt, Hollie Lewis Trotter preceded him in death. Dennis married Nykita Davis who preceded him in death. He later married Marietta Stephens, who God blessed him with her for 34 years. To this union, 2 sons were added, Reginald Stephens and Rodney Stephens. Dennis Attended Kansas City Public Schools, graduating from Central High School in 1972. Dennis worked for Lafarge cement company located in Sugar Creek, he retired after 24 years and later he went to work for the KC Postal Service, where he also retired after 15 years. Dennis gave his life to the Lord at an early age and later rededicated. Serving God was important to him. He also loved to two-step winning a competition at the Memorial Church International under the leadership of Apostle Larry B. Aiken. Dennis was a member of Come up Higher International Ministries under the leadership of Apostle Reginald Stephens and Pastor Sharon Stephens and remained a member until God called him home. Dennis leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 34 years Marietta Herring, sons, Reginald Stephens (Sharon ) Rodney Stephens ( Benni),10 grandchildren, 11 great grand children. 5 brothers, Gerrie Herring, Anthon Herring, Marcus Herring (Drenna), Roger Taylor (Alisha) and Josh Wright; 8 sisters; Hollis Boyd, Shelia Haralson, Vashti Williams (Lemuel), Myra Keatings, Marcia Wagner, Birdella Taylor, Burdette Brooks (Gregg) and Carla Wright,1 aunt, Sylvia Edwards (Jimmy) Rahway, NJ and a host of other relatives and friends.
