Obituary for Mr. Christopher Columbus Robins, Jr.

Columbus was born on May 9, 1926 in Dumas, Arkansas to the union of Columbus and Melissa Robins. Columbus married Otie V. Robins (deceased May, 1985) on December 25, 1946 and the family moved to Kansas City, in 1949. This union produced eight children; Lee, Marva, Minor, Carolyn, Cremonia (deceased. 2005), Christopher Jr., Curtis (deceased 2002), Linda and Brenda. Christopher was a baker for Taystee Bakery Company for 44 years. He was a long-time deacon 40 years with Zion Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. A.L. Johnson. In 1992, Columbus married Iwanna Robins later becoming a member of Fellowship Right Baptist Church. Together Iwanna and Columbus loved traveling, fancy restaurants, fellowship with her Bowling league and entertaining family and friends. He had a passion for watching the Kansas City Royals. Taking his grandchildren and great-grandchildren to wrestling matches was always a joy. Columbus leaves to cherish his memory; wife Iwanna Robins, Children Lee, Marva (Lamont), Carolyn, Christopher (Sylvia), Linda , Brenda, Delores, Trace and Wendy, special friend Deacon Johnny Cheatum, host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
