Obituary for Mr. Alphonso L. Taylor Jr.
Alphonso Lorenzo Taylor Jr., affectionately known as "Phonso" was born on October 17, 1979 in Kansas City, Kansas to Verna Mae Smith and Alphonso L. Taylor Sr. Alphonso departed this earthly life on December 11, 2022. He was preceded in transition by his father, Alphonso L. Taylor Sr.; grandparents, Leroy and Fannie Taylor, Arthur L. and Herrice Smith; great-grandparents, Arthur Z. and Verna Mae "Minnie" Smith, Ellarine and L.K. Small; uncles, Wade Smith, Cortee Smith, Larry Smith Sr., Charlie Durham, Keith & Kenny "Twins" Smith, Bibbo Durham, Doyle Smith; aunts, Clarice Angelo, Gwendolyn Smith, Shirley Holmes, Almagene Fields, and Earline Jenkins. Alphonso enjoyed listening to music, watching wrestling, playing basketball, and working out. Traveling with his brother Durand was always a joy. He truly loved his great-grand "Minnie" aka "Mooch" TO HIM ONLY, and spending time with his children. His mother Verna and little sister Aaliyah were the loves of his life. He and his sister were 21 yrs apart, and the best of friends as if they were only one year apart. Alphonso loved all of his siblings and enjoyed being with family, he grew up with special cousins who were like brothers to him; (The 4 amigos), Larry Smith Jr., Eric Smith, Orland Baker, Doyle Smith, and James Hampton. Alphonso was a proud member of Wyandotte High school class of 1998. He worked several jobs such as; DuPonts, BL Steel, Harry's, General Motors, and a home care attendant. He leaves to cherish his precious memories, his mother, Vera Mae Smith; four sisters, Aaliyah "Bear" Williams, Courtney Douyon (Hebby), Crysten Loren, and Cassiah Len; one brother, Skylar Taylor; step-mother, Carol Johnson-Taylor; three children, Altiashua "troll", Keynia "kay-kay the polar bear", Alonzo "bumble bee"; one step-son, LeeVante "doo-doo daddy"; the mother of his children, Tiffany Owens; two nieces, Corbin and Princess Harper; two nephews, Jaylen and Ryan; five aunts, Sherry Smith, Ella Smith, Kim Johnson, Annette Poke; special aunt, Joyce Hall; four uncles, Leroy Taylor, Robert Hall, Arthur Smith Jr., Ronald Monroe; five great-aunts, one great uncle; special loving cousin, Gayle Moore; and a host of other family and friends.
