Obituary for PM Mr. Orval T. Mayfield
Mr. Orval T. Mayfield 93, died on February 2, 2017, he lived in Kansas City, Mo. for over 70 years. He was born November 25, 1923 to Thomas and Pearl Mayfield in Nowa, Oklahoma. age 17 he joined the United Stes Army (World War 11). He served in India-Burma, receiving Good Conduct Medal, AP Service Ribbon, One Bronze Service Star, and EAME Service Ribbon. After leaving the service he completed 4 year of Business College. In his youth he was a professional boxer named Duke Lollie POP. In 1953 he married Ernestine Franklin. They were married 46 years til her deh in 1999. Orval joined the Masonic, Amos Johnson Lodge #148 where he served for over 40 years. He was raised to Master Mason on November 16, 1966, and became a Gold Card Member. Orval believe in furthering the educion, talent, and skills for his family and the community. Orval worked for Armour Me Company retired with 20 years service, Lake City Army Ammunition Plant retired with 23 years’ service, and Allright-Central Parking retired with 10 years service. He leaves to cherish his memories two daughters Gail Bell of Kansas City, Missouri, Deborah Hughes (Virgil) of Olhe, Kansas. One brother Clifford Gibson of San Antonia, Texas, four grandchildren, six gre grandchildren, one gre gre grandchild and many other family and friends. He will be buried with his wife Ernestine Mayfield Forest Hill Cemetery as he wanted.
