Betty Jean Pennington Bullock

Betty Jean Pennington Bullock, 88, of St. Joseph, MO was called into Glory, April 7, 2018. Born June 27, 1929 in Leavenworth, Kansas, daughter of the le Ecy and Cora Lee Pennington. She was a gradue of the former Bartlett High School, in St. Joseph, and tended Washington University, in St. Louis, Missouri. On June 3, 1951 she married the love of her life, the le Nhaniel J. Bullock Jr. Betty was a Graphic Artist for Hallmark Cards prior to moving to St. Joseph. In 1973, she and Nhaniel opened The Bullock Family Funeral Chapel. In 1973, Betty became a licensed funeral director, she also worked Sherwood Medical, where she retired in 1996. She previously was a member of the First Baptist Church, Elwood, Kansas, under the Pastore of the le Pastor David Rogers, where she served in the mission department and senior choir. She ler became a member of St. Francis Baptist Temple, under the Pastore of Dr. W.A. Hedge, where served in the mission department. Betty was an avid bowler; she bowled in a number of leagues throughout the week for over 30 years and in nional tournaments. She was inducted into the Missouri and St. Joseph Bowling Hall of Fame. She was preceded by: husband, Nhaniel; sisters, Mary Clark and Marie Davis; and son-in-law, David McKinney. She leaves to celebre her homegoing: five children, Jackie McGrh, Stone Mountain, Georgia, Nhaniel J. Bullock III (Pricia), Palmdale, California, Rev. Cora Bullock Opuiyo, Michelle Mckinney, and Ecy Bullock Sr., all of St. Joseph; a sister, Barbra Dixon, Leavenworth, Kansas; a niece, Juliette Davis, Wichita, Kansas, 11 grandchildren, Chonte Williams, Charles Bullock, Joshua McKinney, Felecia Cole, Alecia Btle, Le Kesha Bullock, Ecy and Daelyn Bullock, Chavontay Wson, Spencer Wson, Shelly Collins; 19 gre-grandchildren; and two gre-gre-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
