Vicki Renee Ford

Vicki Renee Ford, was born July 22,1962 in Kansas City, Kansas to Sammie Lee Ford and Barbara Jean Ford. Her mother preceded her in death as well as her two sons Anton Ford Sr. and Delvin Matthews, brothers Keith Ford and Kelvin Ford. She was also preceded in death by Mrs. Adjwilla (MOTHER)Matthews. She attended the USD #500 school district i Kansas City, Kansas. Vicki often visited local churches. She worked as an funeral service attendant with JW Jones Funeral Home as well as Cooley-Marcon & Harvey Funeral Home. In addition to funeral service she also contracted to do in home healthcare. Vicki also loved socializing with people and worked for many years as a bartender / hostess at many area night spots, she was VERY good at it , her TIPS showed it. Vicki's friendships encompassed all aspects of life, and each was special to her, she loved phone calls as well as facebook posts and chats. As she faced some of lifes challenges, which she managed to overcome. Her one wish was to find closure for her son Delvin Matthews death which she did not achieve. Vicki, could be found feeding the homeless and giving out Thanksgiving meals. The annual coat drive was something she looked forward to giving to the community. Even though she did not have a job at the local news stations you could always get the latest information from her (channel 3) just like her sister in law Queen Matthews (Channel 2). Vicki could be found at area Casino's and she loved playing cards. She leaves to cherish with fond memories her daughter Tamier Matthews; son Kelvin Davis; her father Sammie Lee Ford(Barbara); brothers Darryl Ford, Robert Ford, Sanquel Ford(Tracy), Sammie Ford Jr. and Derrick Ford; sister Kelesha Ford; grandchildren Devin Davis, Delvin Scruggs, Journie Beasley, Julis Beasley, Antoan Ford Jr., Toanisha Ford, Jayshaun Williams and Angel; gerat grandchildren Devin Davis Jr. and Autumn Rose Davis; godson Kenneth Smith; sister's in law Amanda Matthews, Muncie Matthews and Tracy Jones(Paul); brother in law Herbert Matthews(Kim). She also leaves numerous nephews, nieces as well as many relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, November 09, 2024 at Forest Grove Baptist Church, 1417 N 9th St. Kansas City, KS 66101. Visitation 3:00-4:00pm with Service 4:00PM.
