Rosa Lee Baldon (Knight)

Rosa Lee Baldon (Knight), 86 was born January 11, 1932 to Jim Baldon and Lillie Simmons-Baldon in Clarksdale, Mississippi. She is preceded in transition by her parents, three sisters, five brothers, three children Michelle Mitchell, Linda Mitchell and Sandra Mitchell, grandchildren Pamela Baldon, Deric D. Mitchell and Tracy Mitchell and husband Silas Knight. While in Mississippi Mother Knight gave birth to five children before moving to Miami, Florida in 1958 to begin a new chapter in her life. She then met and married James Mitchell, from their union seven children were born. In 1968 Mother Knight reloced to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and married Silas Knight and welcomed stepdaughter Kim Knight. “Mother” Rosa, began to fellowship with the Churches of God In Christ under the pastore of Rev. A.L. Scott and continued her (50) year fellowship under the pastore of Pastor Daryl Randolph Gethsemane Center of Hope Ministries until her homegoing. She dediced many years of service to the church through membership in the Choir, served as treasurer of the Mother Board, Usher Department as well as community outreach programs and always the children. Mother Rosa, was self motived to provide a strong spiritual educion for all who came to know her, she worked diligently raising her children, working, and serving her community visiting the sick and shut in giving spiritual support and comfort.
